Dawning Technologies, Inc. is headquartered in Fort Myers, in the southwest region of Florida. A coastal community located between Tampa and Naples on the Gulf of Mexico, Fort Myers, known as “The City of Palms”, boasts a tropical climate and many beautiful beaches rich with rare shells. The local area offers a wide variety of outdoor activities from boating, fishing, diving, and snorkeling to exploring tropical gardens and parks.
We are within a short driving distance of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, Palm Beach and Miami on the East Coast, and only a three hour boat ride to Key West. The Fort Myers area is enjoying a rapid growth in the technology sector and the local economy as a whole.
Dawning is a privately held corporation that was founded in 1984. Our expertise includes both hardware and software design and development. All of our operations are transitioning from the Fairport, New York office, which will house our R&D department through the end of this year. Primary responsibilities include providing telephone and web support for medical device products. This position requires a strong technical understanding of PCs, a basic understanding of computer programming, and network/serial communication techniques. Occasional travel may be required. Dawning Technologies, Inc. is looking for a full time Software Engineer. Roles for upcoming projects are listed below: Test Engineer. Responsible for developing and maintaining an automated test suite for Unit tests as well as writing test plans for regression testing. Knowledge of JUnit, Ant, and shell scripting languages a plus. Database Programmer using JDBC. Strong background in connecting to multiple types of databases. Responsibilities may also include design and implementation of a company wide database to hold a complex array of product and customer information including a web front end for data entry. Java GUI Design. Responsible for developing reusable, and resizable swing components. A Good knowledge of swing memory usage and proper component cleanup a plus. Device Drivers. Dawning Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced J2EE software developer with design experience to join our growing software development team. The immediate project involves development of web services applications, including GUI design, web server applications and database integration logic. Required skills: • 3+ years of J2EE development experience, ability to solve multi-threading, concurrency, J2EE design-patterns, and other complicated issue • Proven expertise in Java Technologies including Web Services (SOAP), Spring, AJAX, Struts, Hibernate, XML/XSD a plus , and UML • Strong skills in system architecture, writing architecture/specs. • Knowledge of SQL and relational database design Pluses: • Hands-on experience with Weblogic, WebSphere, or JBoss Application Server • Knowledge of JUnit Test Cases and Automated Test Framework. Our primary software development project is Java based and applied in Linux and Windows environments. This is a full time position.
